Rudder – Day 6

I think the shaping is just about done.  The secondary facets have been cut, and the leading edge has been rounded off.  It is amazing how much shaping is needed to turn a blank into a foil.

Almost there...

Expert help from the junior assistant.

Finally, we have a shape resembling an actual honest-to-goodness foil!

Houston, we have a foil!

Even our multi-talented inspector approves.

Tomorrow I get to finish the last tiny bit of shaping around corners and fill one side of the blank.  Friday I get to fill the other side of the blank.  Saturday we get to start with the wonderful world of fiberglass.
